Bucky Blanks - Biography
Bucky Blanks aka bRoss is a talented young rap artist, making waves in the global Hip-Hop scene from his hometown of East Preston, Nova Scotia.
A poet and a musician, he writes his own lyrics and performs them with a lightening flow and razor-sharp wit that leaves his fans begging for more.
Bucky sees rap as a vehicle for change, and he uses his persona and lyrical styling’s to paint a picture of his genre that defies stereotypes. He wants to make people feel something on a deeper level while they have the time of their lives.
Bucky has opened shows for some of the biggest names in Hip-Hop. In the past year, he hit the stage for Ghostface Killah, Waka Flocka Flame, August Alsina, YG, and most recently in November of 2014, Mobb Deep. He was also the official DJ on Dru's Atlantic Canadian Tour.
Bucky is also deeply connected to his local community in Halifax, and has made it a point to tend to his roots. He performed at the “Crush Cancer” event in 2009 benefiting leukemia research, and he had the privilege of performing for the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia, The Honorable Mayann Francis. Bucky’s music is making a mark and getting traction with his fans. His work has been featured in documentaries such as “D250 Handmarks”, “We Can Build a Bridge”, and “A Journey to Triumph”, in which Canadian Idol Runner-up contestant Gary Beals also contributed. He was also nominated for the ANSMA (African Nova Scotian Music Award) for best new emerging artist. His mixed tape releases “In the Game Young”, and “The Booth” have over 2000 downloads each, and his new singles 'Lovas Eyes' and '6am' are now available on iTunes and Spotify.
